With the slide in this position.you should NOT be able to push the FP forward and have it extend from the slide face. With the slide pulled back and locked to the rear you can see the plunger protruding from the underside of the slide. This part will depress a plunger mounted in the slide that is a firing pin block. There are parts for this mounted in the reciever.the RH rear and is visable as a "finger" that levers up when the trigger is pulled rearward. The series 70(and prior versions) do not have the firing pin block parts. ![]() The exceptions will be on those models that differ from a standard model(the short barrel versions,mainly) The major difference between a series 70 and a series 80 has to do with Lawyer added parts. ![]() Your pistol is a clone of the government model 1911A1 pistol and those parts,GI,Colt or aftermarket will fit your pistol.
